Environment improving for Olympics
the Beijing Municipal government has issued a timetable for improving the city before the start of the 2008 Olympics. By June next year, more than three hundred illegal buildings will be demolished.
The planning of outdoor advertising boards in the city will be finished before the National Day holiday. And by the end of November, areas beside the railway and light-rail within the city’s fifth ring road, will be covered with trees and grass. The outside of buildings that face the street will be washed and repainted before 2008.
